A little help to keep you typing.
Practical answers about tests, practice, scores and inviting a friend.
How is typing speed calculated?
WPM means standard words per minute. A standard word contains five characters. The test counts characters in correctly completed words, including confirmed spaces, against the test duration.
What happens when I mistype a word?
Space or Enter confirms the word and moves to the next one. An incorrect word counts as an error; you do not have to fix it to continue. Backspace edits the word you are currently typing.
Do I need an account?
No. You can practice without an account and keep local history in your browser. To connect saved results across devices, sign in before practicing.
How do I publish a score?
Finish a speed test, enter a nickname and confirm publication below the result. The server must validate the attempt first. The 30, 60 and 120-second tests and different languages have separate rankings.
How do I invite a friend to a duel?
Choose a game in Typing duels, enter a nickname and create a room. Share its code or invitation. Signed-in players can accept a friend request on the Friends page, select a game beside a friend, create a room and send an invitation from the room. When both players mark themselves ready, the countdown starts. Duels require an internet connection and a signed-in account for both players.
Can I use a phone?
You can use the on-screen keyboard. For more consistent results, turn off autocorrect and word suggestions in your keyboard settings. The site requests these features to be disabled, but behavior also depends on the device.
Why has the beta popup stopped appearing?
It appears once per browser, shared across both languages. Use “Share a suggestion” in the footer to send another idea.
I forgot my password.
Choose Forgot password, enter your account email, then enter the six-digit code from your email and a new password. The code expires in 10 minutes. Use the same browser. Your password needs at least 6 characters.
I found a bug.
Choose “Report a bug” in the contact form. Describe what you were doing, which page was open, your device and browser, and any error message.
